Description
Native American Indian Apache Olla Form Basket and Papago Tohono O’odham Covered Basket. The Olla basket has dog (or horse) and human figures woven onto it. It measures 8″ tall x approx 4-1/2″ at the widest. The Papago basket is approx 7-1/4″ at the widest, 5-1/2″ diameter opening and is 6″ tall. This item can be shipped in-house. Multiple lot combined shipping may require 3rd Party shipping.
Condition
Apache Olla: The foundation appears solid. Rim is tight and intact. Some possible broken stitches on the interior. No appearance of exposed foundation rods or “mouse bites”. Weave appears tight with little to no loose coils or broken wefts. Patina appears mostly even, no major fading of colors. Some possible oxidation to age. Overall condition of basket is consistent with age and use. Papago: The foundation appears solid. Rim is tight and intact. No appearance of exposed foundation rods or “mouse bites”. Weave appears tight with little to no loose coils or broken wefts. Patina appears mostly even, some light fading of colors. Some possible oxidation to age. Overall condition of basket is consistent with age and use.
