Oil on Masonite board painting of a woman walking on a sidewalk, possibly Central Park or elsewhere in New York City. Painted by Reginald Marsh (American, 1898-1954). Unsigned. Sight size 5-1/8″ x 3-7/8″ in 9-3/8″ x 8-1/2″ frame. PROVENANCE: Originally owned by U.S. Senator William Benton (Conn.). Benton and Marsh were at Yale together, and Benton was a huge supporter of the artist during the 1930s. This painting was gifted to Harriet Kirby, who served as one of the senator’s personal assistants. Consigned to Blackwell by a family member of Kirby’s. This item can be shipped in-house.
