Description
Edward Maynard Type II Model 1863 carbine in .50 caliber. Serial #12095 (circa 1864). Manufactured by Mass. Arms Co., Chicopee Falls. Breech load lever action. 20″ barrel, 36-3/4″ overall. Receiver stamped “EDWARD MAYNARD PATENTEE MAY 27 1851 DEC 6 1859”. Mark “G.W.S.” visible on barrel, stock bears two, easily visible government cartouches on the left side. TAGS: Union Civil War cavalry arm, Confederate sharpshooter rifle. This item can be shipped in-house. Multiple lot combined shipping may require 3rd Party shipping.
Condition
Clean & shiny bore. Stock has handling marks, scratches and small dings, no cracks. Metal surfaces show an even blue-brown finish with light surface oxidation and thinning at high points; markings legible. See images.
