November Exceptional Estates Auction
Lot 255:
Description
Late 19th to early 20th-century German fireman’s helmet, featuring a black-finished leather or composite body with decorative brass comb, front badge, and trim. The front plate bears a large Gothic “G” on a shield, indicating a civic or municipal fire brigade-possibly for the city of Gera or another “G”-named district. Retains original leather chinstrap with brass rosettes, as well as partial inner liner and sweatband. The form mimics a military Pickelhaube but is a civilian issue used by structured fire brigades in Imperial Germany. TAGS: Imperial German civic helmet, vintage firefighter gear, German fire brigade, antique leather helmet, Prussian style headgear. This item can be shipped in-house. Multiple lot combined shipping may require 3rd Party shipping.
