Description
US Model 1861 cartridge box with black leather construction, outer flap featuring an oval US brass plate, and inner flap over the compartments. The front has a small implement pocket. The box is fitted with a leather sling bearing a circular eagle breastplate. Standard type for .58 caliber rifled muskets during the Civil War. Box measures approx. 8-1/2″ x 2-1/4″ x 7″.
