Description
Civil War studio pard image of two soldiers in uniform with linked arms. Assumed to be a Benton Barracks image by photographer Enoch Long, based on the painted canvas backdrop featuring a cannon and rows of tents, taken at the Union Army training facility near St. Louis. Hand colored with tinted flushed cheeks, gold jacket buttons and watch chains. The men are standing with linked arms, comrades or maybe even brothers. Good contrast, clear image. Case overall approx. 3-5/8″ x 4-3/4″. Nice condition, typical scratches from mat, one scratch on image. Case with typical wear and repaired hinge.
