Signed photograph of General William C. Westmoreland, as well as two original, personal letters on 101st Airborne letterhead written in 1958 from Westmoreland to then-Col. Bruce Palmer. Palmer’s parents passed away within the space of a couple of months, and both are heartfelt letters of condolence from Westmoreland to Palmer. Palmer went on to succeed Westmoreland as Army Chief-of-Staff, being promoted eventually to four-star general.
