Description
Classic French Model 1895 (Mle 1895) firefighter’s helmet, constructed entirely of brass with a raised comb and front and rear visors. The front bears a large embossed badge reading “Sapeurs Pompiers de Coulee”, featuring a flaming grenade, laurelbranches, shield, and mural crown-iconography traditionally associated with municipal fire brigades across France. Based on patina, wear, and construction details, this helmet dates to the interwar period, ca. 1920-1940, and would have been in useduring World War One and World War Two. The interior shows natural oxidation and patina with remaining liner attachment points but no liner present.
