Description
"Woman in the armchair" by Picasso, 1947. Lithograph in colors on watermarked Arches paper. Signed in red crayon and numbered 44/50, LR. Sheet measures 19-3/4" x 13". From the edition of 50 plus five artist’s proofs, published by Mourlot. Prospective bidders are encouraged to examine the piece in person, if possible, or contact Blackwell for any additional information. Provenance & note: From a Florida Modern art collection amassed beginning in the 1950s in Michigan. All proceeds from the sale of this item will go to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Crosse, Wis. Many of the important art pieces in the sale are from this same lifetime collection. This item can be shipped in-house.
Condition: See images. Bottom edge has some faint creasing. Back has a thin from a removed mount (center about 3" from the top edge), as well as a wide black hinge mount tape residue, a mounting tape remnant (center, about 3" from the bottom edge). There are also two tape removals on verso, right edge at top and bottom. Small pencil notation on verso, bottom left. Tiny 1/8" thin on verso about 11" down and 4-1/2" from right edge.
