Description
Mounted photo, measuring 8×10 (including board), depicting posed soldiers in an encampment. At least two of the propped rifles appear to be Springfield Trapdoors, which would date this photo to the early 1870s (at the earliest). Likely a National Guard unit. Penciled on verso is “5th Reg’t Infantry Co. B,” with no state identification. The bottom of the photo reads, “50 yr. Reunion of Confederate Army in Chattanooga, May 27-28-29, 1913,” but that may not correspond to the content or age of the photo, but rather when the photo was last displayed. The photo is clearly from the 1870s-1880s. This item can be shipped in-house. Multiple lot combined shipping may require 3rd Party shipping.
