Elgin U.S. Army Air Corps Type A-13 military navigation pocket watch manufactured in 1941. Features a 50mm chrome-plated nickel case by the Illinois Watch Case Co., white military dial with 24-hour inner track, black spade hands and center sweep seconds. Movement serial number 3951619. High-grade 21-jewel B.W. Raymond manual-wind movement adjusted to five positions and temperature, engraved “B.W. Raymond,” “Adjusted 5 Positions,” “Temperature” and “U.S. Army A.C.” The B.W. Raymond name represented Elgin’s highest-grade railroad movements, known for precision timekeeping, and this movement was adapted for military navigation service during World War II.
