Description
Pastel portrait of a gentleman wearing a fur and writing at a small table by Christian Tangermann (German, 1760-1830). Signed and dated 1809 verso, lower right. This work is a study for a known oil portrait, titled “Portrait of a Writing Gentleman in a Fur Coat,” also executed in that same year. Tangermannn was known for his works depicting Russian and Austrian nobles. Overall framed size measures approximately 35″ X 29″. This item will need to be shipped by a packing company of your choice. We maintain a list of reliable shippers, or you may choose your own.
Condition
Artwork is in excellent condition, framed open at the back showing verso. Framing shows some minor wear consistent with age.
