U.S. Army-issue Colt Model of 1911, serial #11547, 5″ barrel. A WWI-era issue pistol produced in 1912. Markings on the left side of the slide read “PATENTED APR.20.1897 SEPT.9.1902 DEC.19.1905 FEB.14.1911” followed by “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.” Right side of the slide is marked “MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY.” Frame is marked “UNITED STATES PROPERTY.” Inspector stamp “WGP” in circle above the magazine release, corresponding to Major Walter G. Penfield. Includes original-period leather U.S. holster and two magazines. TAGS: WWI, WW1, World War One, World War 1, U.S. military, Colt 45. This item can be shipped in-house. Condition
In working condition, fired recently with no issues. Finish has a gray brown patina. Action is smooth, left side grip has a small chip to the bottom left corner. Bore rifling is visible with some dark areas. See images.
