Description
Very early oil on board painting by Christopher Still (American, b. 1961) depicting a woman artist painting in a studio. Signed “Still” LR, and signed on verso “Christopher M. Still,” titled “SARAH” and dated “1980 Phila.” At the age of 17, Still received the National Hallmark prize and the only full scholarship to the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. This extraordinary painting was executed only about two years later. Painting measures 11″ x 9-3/4″ in 15-5/8″ x 14-1/4″ frame. One of two Still pieces in the auction.
