Hand-painted Chinese porcelain plate featuring a scholar and attendant in a garden setting, with a tree and rockery in the background. The border is richly enameled with scrolling lotus and peony motifs on a yellow ground. Reverse bears a six-character iron red Qianlong mark in seal script and additional decorative flourishes. Likely Republic period, circa 1920-1940. Measures 5-7/8″. TAGS: Chinese export porcelain, famille rose enamel, Republic period, Jingdezhen ware, apocryphal mark, decorative plate.
