“The White House Library, A Short Title List,” published in 1967 by the White House Historical Association. Inscribed and signed by Lady Bird Johnson, LBJ’s first lady, “For J. Bernard West, with understanding appreciation for all you have done to preserve and enhance the beauty of this house — Lady Bird Johnson.” Provenance: From J.B. West to Clark Dobson & John Horner. West served as the White House Chief Usher from 1957-1969. Dobson and Horner were personal friends of West’s. Horner was an Army major attached to the WHMO (White House Military Office) during the Kennedy and Johnson administrations. This item can be shipped in-house.
