Description
Very early coin silver trophy for a “2nd Best Shot” awarded to Evan Morrison at the Terre Haute Rifle Club, dated 31st Jan. 1839. (The town was founded only 20 years earlier.) Evan Morrison had been the president of the board of trustees of the town, according to a Wabash Courier article from 1835. Trophy stamped on bottom with unidentified silversmith or retailer marks — “C&S” and “NY.” Measures 3-3/4″ high and weighs 81.3 grams. This item can be shipped in-house.
