Histoire de la Conquete de la Floride: ou Relation de ce qui s’est passe dans la Decouverte de ce Pais par Ferdinand de Soto… A Leide, Pierre Vander Aa, 1731. Tome Premier only of the French translation by Pierre Richelet of Garcilaso de la Vega’s chronicle of Hernando de Soto’s 1539-1543 expedition through Florida and the American Southeast, first issued in Spanish in 1605. This early Vander Aa printing includes — as far as we can determine — the full complement of engravings for Volume I. Van der Aa was a noted Dutch publisher of travel and exploration works, and his editions are prized for their maps and plates. This item can be shipped in-house.
