Description
German combination gun manufactured by Imman Meffert, marked “Hubertus Suhl.” Matching serial # 62767 on barrel, receiver and stock. The boxlock action is marked “Dural, Hubertus Suhl.” It is chambered in 16 gauge (side-by-side) with a 6.5x58R rifle barrel below. The gun features an engraved receiver, double triggers, horn trigger guard and buttplate, checkered pistol grip stock with raised cheek piece. The top of the right barrel is marked “IMMAN MEFFERT,” while the left barrel is marked “SUHL.” The barrel flat is marked “Konrad Schreiber Wurzburg.” All barrels are stamped “Krupp Laufstahl.” Proof marks on the shotgun barrels include a crown over W next to an eagle, “Suhl,” crown over U, the numbers “15” and “16” in a circle, the word “Nitro,” and an eagle. The center rifle barrel is marked with serial number 62767 and shows an eagle over “Suhl” over crown over U, “64mm,” “58-1/2,” and “835.” One side of the rifle barrel is also marked with a crown over N and “S.t.m.G. 8gr.” Barrel length is approximately 25-3/4 inches. Overall length is approximately 42-1/4 inches. Length of pull is 14-1/4 inches. The stock includes a compartment containing four rounds of 6.5x58R ammunition, which are included with the firearm. Condition
Bores are bright and clean, small area of loss on the trigger guard at the forward screw connection point, this causes some movement in the trigger guard. Stock has small chip near trigger guard on the right side. Buttplate has cracks. The finish has age appropriate wear with some scratches. See images.
