Description
Original U.S. Civil Defense helmet, stamped inside the rim “U.S. GOVT. PROPERTY OCD” (Office of Civilian Defense). This WWII-era helmet features a sand-colored textured finish, consistent with those issued to air raid wardens and other civilian volunteers under the OCD program. The liner includes an intact suspension system and partial leather sweatband. Bales are fixed, and chin strap components remain attached, though worn.
