Sculpture commemorating the 5th Special Forces Detachment A 799. Detachment 799 was focused on conducting covert operations, reconnaissance, and intelligence gathering as part of MACV-SOG ( Military Assistance Command Vietnam – Studies and Observations), incorporating the Green Berets and Navy Seals. This statue commemorates an American military unit not publicly recognized until the early 1990’s, with a copper finish figure of a soldier carrying a rifle, mounted on a wood base with an engraved plaque.
