Description
WWII Japanese Army officer’s shin-gunto katana (samurai-style sword), possibly Type 98 pattern. Tang is signed with smith’s mei and dated August 1943 (Showa 18). Hand-forged blade with arsenal polish. Full-length tang has age-appropriate patina with visible file marks. Good, mid-war piece. 39″ long in scabbard.
