Circa 1830s Danish officer’s dress shako, likely Model 1831, featuring a tall black leather body with brass trim and front plate. The large brass insignia bears the crowned royal cipher “FR”, consistent with the reign of King Frederik VI or Frederik VII. Includes lion-head bosses with graduated brass scale chinstraps and a faded white feather plume mounted in a brass holder. Interior is lined in leather with evidence of period wear. This type was used by Danish officers through the mid-19thcentury and is associated with the early years of the Danish constitutional monarchy and the First Schleswig War.
