India Medal with “Relief of Chitral 1895” clasp, named to Mate Pandu, Transport Department. Bronze issue awarded to Indian support personnel who took part in the 1895 British expedition to relieve the besieged garrison at Chitral Fort in the volatile North-West Frontier region (present-day Pakistan). The Chitral Campaign was a short but critical conflict following a succession crisis and tribal rebellion.
