Blade measures approx. 14-1/4″, overall length 19-1/2″. This is a German M1898/05 bayonet, commonly known as the “Butcher Blade,” issued during World War I. Manufacturer marked “Durkopp Werke A.G.” with a 1917 date stamp and imperial crown proothe spine. Features high spine “ears” and wood grip panels with diagonal grooves. Comes with original steel scabbard. This was the standard bayonet for the Gewehr 98 rifle and saw extensive service on the Western Front.
