Description
U.S. Navy officer’s sword featuring a 32″ etched blade with patriotic and nautical motifs including fouled anchors, “USN”, naval insignia, and scrolling floral designs. Blade is maker-marked Hilborn Hamburger Inc., New York, and “Made in Solingenermany”, indicating mid-20th century export production. Brass hilt with pierced “USN” guard, sea serpent motif on knuckle bow, and ray skin grip bound with triple brass wire. Includes original black leather scabbard with brass mounts and double supension rings. This pattern has been worn by commissioned U.S. Navy officers for dress and ceremonial use throughout the World War II era and Korean War period.
