Description
Brass-hilted French Model 1845/1855 Infantry Officer’s sword with a slightly curved, single-fuller blade measuring approx. 31″, 36-1/2″ overall, and approx. 1-1/16″ wide. Spine is faintly stamped “85,” likely indicating year of manufacture. No vble ricasso mark. Hilt features an ornate floral openwork guard, wire-wrapped ray skin grip, and laurel-motif pommel. No scabbard. TAGS: second empire sword, French infantry saber, Napoleonic style, floral hilt, officer’s dress sword, Franco-Prussian era. Grip handle is slightly loose. No scabbard.
