Blade measures approx. 21-1/2″, overall length 25″. Believed to be a British Pattern 1876 socket bayonet for the Martini-Henry rifle, featuring a triangular blade with regimental rack numbers “1633” and British inspection marks including a broadrow over “WD” and crown-over-E. Socket bears additional inspection stamp “D.” Includes what appears to be the original leather sheath with brass throat and chape, also marked with “WD” and inspection stampings. Widely used throughout the Britispire in the late 19th century. TAGS: British bayonet, Martini-Henry blade, Victorian military, 1876 socket weapon, Anglo-Zulu War.
