Description
U.S. Model 1819-pattern flintlock pistol, approximately .54 caliber with 10″ round barrel and attached swivel ramrod. Barrel breech clearly stamped “JDJ,” the proof mark of inspector John D. Johnson. Brass flash pan, iron furniture, and walnut stock with flat lock plate showing correct 1819 configuration. Maker’s name not visible on plate, believed to by Simeon North of Middletown Connecticut.
