Oil on canvas painting featuring a pastoral Italian landscape with cows, farm and sailboat. Signed on verso “Le Chevalier Falardeau,” nee Antoine Sebastien Falardeau (Canadian, 1822-1889). Titled and dated Florence 1867. Card taped to back has old provenance in English — “Pastoral scene bought from Chevalier himself in 1870 …” Measures 22-1/2″ x 21″, canvas measures 19″ x 17-1/2″.
