Description
Rare, May 1936 true first edition and first printing of Gone with the Wind, signed on the front free endpaper by author Margaret Mitchell. Professionally rebound in red leather. Numbered to 1,037 pages. Comes in cloth covered archival slipcase. Signature is unconditionally guaranteed to be authentic, without reservation or time limit. The rebind added a second, thicker endpaper one page behind the signature endpaper (preserving the original ffep with the signature), on which is affixed an old newspaper clipping about Mitchell. This is an exceedingly rare book — there were 10,000 copies of the first printing total, and Mitchell was a famously elusive signer. This item can be shipped in-house. Condition
In very fine condition, rebinding aside. Minor toning spots on blank page before title page. No missing or torn pages.
