Description

U.S. FIM-43 “Redeye” man-portable air defense system (MANPADS), designed in the 1950s and fielded beginning in the 1960s. Dated with a marker 3/27/69. It was the Vietnam War era predecessor to the FIM-92 “Stinger” missile. Shoulder-fired, infrared-guided surface-to-air missile system used by the U.S. Army and allied forces during the Cold War. Approximate measurements: 49″ x 14″ x 10″ and 8-10 pounds. To be clear, this device is not a weapon — it’s a large tube with a scope and a handle. It cannot be made to fire, nor can it be restored to functioning condition. There are no electronic components in it and no wiring. Battery contact rod has been removed. According to the ATF, it is legal to own a spent launcher (provided it cannot be made to fire). Even so, there are undoubtedly U.S. states to which we cannot ship this item. Please make certain before bidding that you’re permitted by your state and/or local area to receive it. Just on principle, we won’t ship this internationally. This item will need to be shipped by a packing company of your choice. We maintain a list of reliable shippers, or you may choose your own.
