Salesman sample book titled “The Golden State: A History of the Region West of the Rocky Mountains; embracing California, Oregon, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Idaho, Washington Territory, British Columbia, and Alaska, from the earliest period to the present time” with maps and numerous illustrations, by R. Guy McClellan, published 1872, originally the book would have been 652 pages, but this copy has select sample pages of the illustrations and texts, inside the front cover has two binding color samples, book measures 8-7/8″ x 5-3/4″, brown cloth binding with gilt title and image on cover.
