Rare full plate Civil War tintype cased portrait of a Union officer, possibly from Massachusetts. Photograph of a seated soldier wearing a double breasted jacket with epaulettes and a sword belt complete with his sword, and with what appears to be a Massachusett belt plate. Image with hand painted highlights to epaulettes, buttons, belt buckle, and sword. Housed in a period leather style case. Tintype approx. 6-1/4″ x 8-1/4″, case overall approx. 7″ x 9″.
