Description
Antique Moore’s Patent Fire Arms Co. revolver in .32 Teat-fire caliber with 3-1/4″ round barrel. Barrel marked “Moore’s Pat Fire Arms Co Brooklyn N.Y.”. Six shot smooth cylinder. Frame features engraved scroll decoration. Serial number 4167 visible on barrel underside. Produced circa 1864 to 1870. Design used teat-fire cartridges to avoid infringement of the Rollin White patent held by Smith & Wesson. These revolvers saw private purchase and use by both soldiers and civilians during the Civil War era.
