Description

Stunning oil painting of trees and cacti in bloom, with mountains beyond (likely either Texas or Arizona) by Dawson Dawson-Watson (British, 1864-1939). Dawson-Watson trained originally in England and France, and moved to the States in the early part of the century, settling eventually in San Antonio, Texas, in the 1920s. Watson’s most highly sought-after work depicts prickly pear cactus in western landscapes like this one. Appears to have been canvas, stretched on board. Signed lower right. Sight size 20-1/2″ x 15-1/2″ in 28-1/2″ x 23-1/2″ wood frame. This item will need to be shipped by a packing company of your choice.
